SONSHINE FESTIVAL 2010- There will be an informational meeting, Sunday, April 11 at 12:00pm in the OLP Parish Hall for all 9th -12th graders who are interested in attending this year’s Sonshine Festival. Snacks are available following the meeting. Sonshine is four days of Christian music and camping in Willmar, MN on July 14-17. The cost of a ticket is $70 per person, if registered before May. The Annual Easter Breakfast is quickly approaching. This is a major fundraiser for the Youth Mission Trip group. Please see the donation list located in the gathering area if you would like to make a donation of food. Case donations are also welcomed and can be made at the church office. March is Minnesota FoodShare Month, with the economy struggling it is no surprise that food shelf usage in the State of Minnesota has seen its largest increase ever. To help meet this need, the 2010 March FoodShare’s campaign goal across the State is to bring in 12 million lbs. of food. Let’s help do our part here at St. John! Please bring nonperishable food items with you to donate to a local food shelf. The food shelf cabinet is located in the upper level of the Gathering Area (near where the Greeters stand). Thank you for doing your part in helping to meet this need.
Mission Trip Pampered Chef fundraiser began on March 1. A booth will be set up between services to place orders on Sunday, March 7, Wednesday, March 17 and one last Sunday on March 21. Please visit the booth and support our youth!

St. John Youth are selling Gift Cards (known as SCRIP) to raise money for a mission trip to Yakama, Washington this summer. These gift cards can be used for weekly gas and grocery expenses, as well as monthly purchases for clothing, entertainment, and home projects. The youth will be taking orders between services and after second service today. The gift cards will be ready for pick up at Church next Sunday, March 21st. Stop by the table in the gathering area for more information and to order your gift cards.

Confirmation Students are expected to attend each Wednesday service with an adult Lenten Mentor and to fill out and turn in a Lenten service note each week.
Sunday morning, March 14th, between worship services Dr. Darrell Jodock from Gustavus Adolphus College will be presenting a forum on “Understanding Judaism – Why is it important?” This event is sponsored by our Adult Education and Fellowship Ministgry Team.
