Maundy Thursday – April 5, 2012 - 7:00 p.m.
“Do This in Remembrance of Me…”
A Service of Holy Communion
Thursday evening of Holy Week Jesus gathered at the table with his disciples to share the traditional Jewish Passover meal of remembrance. But Jesus would turn it into a new meal of remembrance. “In the night in which he was betrayed…Do this in remembrance of Me.”
Come and join us on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. as we listen to the Word and gather at the Table and meditate anew upon this special evening.
Good Friday – April 6, 2012 – 8:00 p.m.
Live – Stations of the Cross Devotional Service
Meditations on Scenes of Jesus’ Passion and Death
A special Devotional Service is planned for Good Friday at 8:00 p.m. In the darkness of the sanctuary, members from our congregation will depict scenes, highlighted in spotlight, of Jesus’ Passion, Suffering and Death. Each scene is accompanied by Scripture, and congregational response.
Please make plans to attend this unique live presentation on the Friday evening of Holy Week as we meditate and respond together to these great scenes of Jesus’ life giving love for us.
Easter Sunday – April 8, 2012
“He is not here! He is Risen!”
Special Service Times - 7:00 and 9:30 a.m.
Breakfast 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. (In Support of St. John Facilities Improvements)
The Greatest Day on the Christian Calendar is the day that Jesus rose up from the tomb and the final power of death died. What can be greater than that? St. Paul writes, “Who can deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God who has given us the victory through our Lord, Jesus Christ!”
Be up early and come to St. John as we celebrate together in Word and Song and Table Fellowship on Easter Sunday morning! And join us for Breakfast too!
