Hey all you 7th-12th graders! Come to the Campfire on Monday, June 21st from 6:00-9:00pm in Pastor Mark L’s backyard! There will be a campfire, camp counselors, hotdogs, s’mores, root beer floats, bocce ball, lawn golf, frisbee, and lots of other fun and games! We hope to see you there!!!

Hot Dog/Bratwurst Fundraiser

Come and enjoy some good food and support a great cause! This week, Thursday, May 6th thru Sunday, May 9th, the Mission Trip group will be hosting The Weenie Wagon. They will be selling hot dogs and bratwurst in the Coke wagon outside of the Shakopee Cub Foods! It’s a quick, easy and convenient way to support our Mission Trip to the Yakama Indian Reservation! Rumor has it there will even be people wearing a hot dog costume. You never know, Pastor Mark Lepper might be wearing it when you show up!!! Hope to see you there!!!

Mission Trip Silent Auction Banquet

Are you looking for a night of good entertainment and food? Mark May 1 on your calendar. The Mission Trip Silent Auction Banquet will be from 6-9. Tickets will be on sale today thru April 25. They are $12 for Adults Lasagna Dinner and $5 for Kids 12 and under for Walking Tacos. We’ll even entertain your kids while you enjoy the evening. If anyone would like to donate an item for the auction, please contact the church office. Donations can be dropped of at the office April 25^th – April 30.

Sonshine Festival 2010

SONSHINE FESTIVAL 2010- There will be an informational meeting, Sunday, April 11 at 12:00pm in the OLP Parish Hall for all 9th -12th graders who are interested in attending this year’s Sonshine Festival. Snacks are available following the meeting. Sonshine is four days of Christian music and camping in Willmar, MN on July 14-17. The cost of a ticket is $70 per person, if registered before May. The Annual Easter Breakfast

The Annual Easter Breakfast is quickly approaching. This is a major fundraiser for the Youth Mission Trip group. Please see the donation list located in the gathering area if you would like to make a donation of food. Case donations are also welcomed and can be made at the church office. Mission Trip Pampered Chef

Mission Trip Pampered Chef fundraiser began on March 1. A booth will be set up between services to place orders on Sunday, March 7, Wednesday, March 17 and one last Sunday on March 21. Please visit the booth and support our youth!

St. John Youth are selling Gift Cards (known as SCRIP) to raise money for a mission trip to Yakama, Washington this summer. These gift cards can be used for weekly gas and grocery expenses, as well as monthly purchases for clothing, entertainment, and home projects. The youth will be taking orders between services and after second service today. The gift cards will be ready for pick up at Church next Sunday, March 21^st. Stop by the table in the gathering area for more information and to order your gift cards.

Thank You For Supporting World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine!

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING WORLD VISION’S 30 HOUR FAMINE! Last Friday and into Saturday, 21 youth from Belle Plaine went without eating for 30 hours and raised $980.15 to help fight world hunger! The money raised will be sent to World Vision to help feed and care for 2 children for over a year. Our Famine youth donated their time by traveling to Feed My Starving Children in Chanhassen and packed 5,184 meals which will feed 14 kids for an entire year. They also went door-to-door and collected over 500 food shelf items for the local CAP Agency in Shakopee. We are very proud of you! Thank you for your donations and prayers and for sampling the UNIMIX and Plumpy’nut that was served at coffee hour last Sunday. And one more big THANK YOU to Cheryl Johnson, Kim Neumann, Sara Bungarden, Lori Schmit, Kirk Franck, Noah Lee, Kelly Vechinski, Pastor Mark Lepper and all the youth that participated in this year’s event.
