Pastor Mark Lepper

markl

Pastor Mark Lepper has been here at St John since September 1st, 2006. This is his first call since graduating from Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa in May, 2006.

During his college years at Dana College, an ELCA college in Blair, Nebraska, Pastor Mark worked at Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries as a camp counselor. His time spent at camp had a really big impact on him, and helped shape his call to ministry. To this day he loves camp and outdoor ministry, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Camp Onomia in Onamia, MN. At Dana, he majored in Youth Ministry and after graduating in 2000 he spent a year as a youth director for a church in Lincoln, Nebraska.

He then went to seminary at Wartburg in Dubuque.  During his time there he did his internship at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon, Illinois, and also spent a summer doing his Clinical Pastoral Education as a chaplain at St Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.  Upon graduating Pastor Mark moved up here to be with all the wonderful people of St John, where his focus is on ministry to the children and youth of the congregation. He invites you to come stop in his office, look at the fun pictures on the wall, play with some of his fun toys, and have some great conversation!

In his free time, Pastor Mark enjoys riding his bike, learning to play the ukulele, participating in community theater, watching Survivor with friends and reading all sorts of books.  He loves to travel and has been to Mexico and India.  He loves the outdoors and considers the Rocky Mountains, the North Shore of Lake Superior, Carol Joy Holling Camp in Ashland, Nebraska, Glacier National Park and Holden Village in the Cascade Mountains of Washington to be some of his favorite places on earth.
