World Vision's 30 Hour Famine

On February 26th and 27th our youth will participate in World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine. They will be fasting for 30 hours to get a taste of hunger and to raise money to help feed and care for hungry kids and their families around the world. Students in grades 7-12 who are interested in participating can pick up their fundraising packet once they have returned their signed consent forms to Pastor Lepper or Laura Lee by February 17th. Check out the Famine poster in the gathering area for more information.

    TO ALL 30 HOUR FAMINE PARTICIPANTS

    •Your consent form must be turned in by Ash Wednesday, February 17, 2010. Please pick up your fundraising packet from Laura or Pastor Mark, if you have not done so already.

    •We will be traveling to Feed My Starving Children in Chanhassen and packing food from 8:00pm-9:30pm on Friday night.

    •Saturday morning we will be going door-to-door collecting food for the CAP Agency. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

    •Remember to bring any overnight supplies and bedding you might need. We will be sleeping in the church basement.

    •If you would like to have a friend join you in the 30 Hour Famine, they need to have a consent form turned in. They will need to help you in your fundraising efforts as well. This is the 30HF, not a lock-in!

    •Remember that you will be fasting for 30 Hours starting at 8:00am on Friday. EAT A GOOD BREAKFAST BEFORE YOU GO TO SCHOOL!

    •The youth room will be open after school for fellowship. Please come as soon as you are able.

    •The funds you raise will help children who are truly starving. One dollar can feed and care for a child for an entire day! COLLECT AS MUCH MONEY AS YOU POSSIBILY CAN!!

    •The formal Famine events will begin at 6:00pm on Friday, February 26 and end at 3:00pm Saturday, February 27. If for some reason you need to leave before 3:00 pm on Saturday, written permission from a guardian needs to be given to a group leader prior to the Famine date.

    •We will be hosting coffee hour on Famine Sunday, February 28 from 9:00am to 10:30am. Plan on being there!
